Some Flour Bluff area residents experienced a power outage around 1:55 p.m. yesterday when a dump truck snagged power lines, pulling down utility poles in the area. A Corpus Christi municipal truck was working on Laguna Shores Road with its bed still raised when the bed ran into power lines, collapsed nearby poles to which the lines were attached.
The driver was directed to stay in the truck until power in the area could be turned off and he could be safely removed. Luckily, he was not injured. AEP-Texas were expected to have worked in the area until about 6:30 p.m. to get the power back on.
