bestherbs coffee recall

According to the FDA, the New of Kopi Jantan Tradisional Herbs Coffee by Bestherbs Coffee LLC, a company from North Texas, contains a Viagra-like substance – desmethyl carbodenafil. The chemical is structurally similar to sildenafil. The coffee is supposed to be a male enhancement product but the label did not disclose Viagra-like effects.

The chemical in the coffee may react with nitrates in medication and bring down blood pressure. The coffee is a risk for diabetics, those with high cholesterol and people suffering from heart disease.

The coffee also contains undeclared milk, a potential problem for the lactose intolerant.

Bestherbs office in Grand Prairie is accepting returns and issuing refunds.

In another case of recall, Freshtex Produce has begun recalling the Valery brand Maradol papayas that are grown and packed by Carica de Campeche because they batch may carry Salmonella-infected fruit. The papayas were chiefly distributed in Illinois. Only papayas carrying the Valery name on the box are being recalled.

Freshtex took this step after the FDA notified it that other brands of Maradol papayas originating from the Carica de Campeche farm were found to have tested positive for Salmonella. While no illnesses have be reported as yet, the FDA recommended a precautionary recall.

In perhaps one of the more bizarre recalls in recent times, Texas Legend Food, the makers of Silver Star Chipotle Queso Dip, has had this dip taken off from the shelves because the ingredients do not list cheese. In Texas, quesos contain cheese as an essential ingredient and within the state, people probably take it for granted that quesos they buy contain cheese. Of course, queso in Spanish means cheese and many Texans already know this. But, it’s another matter outside the state. The FDA has cited risks of deadly allergies to unsuspecting people who may consume this product without knowing that it contains milk, cheese, and eggs.
