On Saturday, April 22, 2020, a 22-year-old woman died after her car hit a pole, rolled over and caught fire near Leopard Street in Corpus Christi, Texas.  Corpus Christi police senior officer Travis Pace said the crash occurred at 1:20 p.m. on the 2400 block of Leopard Street near north Port Avenue. Officers were called to the scene where they discovered a Nissan 4-door passenger car flipped over near a fallen electric pole and on fire.  The woman was dead on scene.  The Nueces County Medical Examiner identified the woman as 22-year-old Deserey Sanchez.  It is unclear if other people had been inside the vehicle, but it appeared Sanchez may have been the only occupant. The power line was down until a least 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
