How Do you Maximize Your Case?
Maximizing Damages and Your Case Value
When you look at maximizing the value of your case you first have to look to yourself as a person.
How injured are you ?
- Determine the severity of your injuries. Did you go to the ER? Ambulance? Hospital? or did you wait until several weeks later to treat
How bad is the vehicle damage? if it is a car wreck
- a small fender bender is different than a totaled out vehicle
How much time have you lost from work?
Document all of your time that you have missed to go to the Dr, to travel, miles, gas costs, account for all of it.
How has your injury impacted you emotionally?
Did you have to see a psychologist or psychiatrist?
Have you filed your own personal injury claim or has the attorney handled it maximize the value of your case?
Have you already given a recorded statement? one answer- DON’T not without speaking to an attorney
FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR’s Orders
- we are not medical professionals only you know if you are truly injured
You must be able to prove all of your damages, with bills and with proper documentation and evidence
When you are dealing with an attorney make sure you help him in all ways possible. The law firm won’t know what hospital you went to, what doctor you saw, you need to have that information for the firm.
Share all documents and information with your attorney
You only have a limited time in which to prepare your case. The evidence you present at settlement negotiations or at trial will be the evidence used to determine the compensation you will receive.
To get the most out of the short amount of time you have to prepare your case, proactively share information and documents with your attorney. These documents include:
- Police accident report
- Medical bills
- Wage statements
- Attendance reports from your employer
- Statements from your insurance company
- Medical records
- Repair estimates
Share these documents with your attorney as soon as you receive them. Make copies as well.
The above is not conclusive and are only a few tips to maximize your personal injury case value. If you need more information call our law firm.
